Wandy Rodriguez racked up an impressive total of 11 strikeouts at the ballpark
where the Detroit Iron Gloves beat the Chainsaw Proctologists 5 to
4.
Rodriguez(5-4) was very good in the win. He gave up just 4 hits and 5 walks
in 9 innings. Detroit had 9 hits for the afternoon.
Brad Thompson(3-2) was the losing pitcher in relief. He gave up 1 hit and no
walks in 1/3 of an inning. When asked about his strikeout total for the
game, Rodriguez offered, 'The fan's really got into it. It is fun to see
them tally up the strikeout totals up there in the stands. Fortunately, I
kept them busy this afternoon - of course, it would be all for naught without
the 'W'.'
